| I wonder why my music purchases (and downloads) are so influenced by Rock Band and Guitar Hero? Coheed and Cambria isn't my normal kind of music, but playing "Welcome Home" on expert on Rock Band made me want to buy the album. Maybe I'll like it...

| Today I checked my email and found the following email:
We truly apologize for the delay in responding to your application and expressing interest in opportunities at Southwestern Energy. Unfortunately, due to internal changes and restructuring within the company, the review process took much longer than anticipated.
While your background and qualifications are quite impressive, it is with regret that we are unable to offer you a position at this time.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to review your resume and we wish you success in your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
It may not seem funny in itself, but for how many companies does "much longer than anticipated" mean 1.5 years? I applied to this company back in Spring 2006. Well, at least I got something back...

| Well, this blog has fallen by the wayside. I've had ideas for posts lately, but not had the drive to actually post them. I fear this may be nearing the end of my posting on Xanga. It appears that a lot of my friends are going along the same route.
Eventually, I'll get a blog engine set up for http://www.possiblybob.com, the site I've been paying for for the last 5 months, but not really had a chance to use yet. I should just take one weekend and throw it together. It's just hard to find that weekend to put everything aside and do what I do every day at work.
I guess we'll just wait and see what happens.

| This weekend began with a hectic last Friday. I didn't get out of work until about 5:45, which was bad, as I'd planned an event in Fayetteville at 6:45. Around 6:30 I tried leaving, but found out that I was to drive my brother and sister down with me. We ended up leaving Bentonville around 6:45 and didn't get down for dinner until 7:20 or so. Dinner at TGIFriday's was good, as it usually is, though the party of folks who gathered there were pretty much split into two groups down the middle of the table. I don't think I got to talk with everyone who was there. After dinner we caravaned to the drive in theater to see Ratatouille. I really enjoyed seeing it again, even though the sound wasn't as great as it was over at the real theater. I thought about staying up to see Spiderman 3 afterwards, but it was way too late.
Saturday I got up early to go with my family to Branson. We left around 7:30 or so, had breakfast at a small place in Eureka, and made it to Branson around 11. We went to Silver Dollar City for most of the day, which was mostly an enjoyable experience. I waited in line for the Powder Keg ride for about 30 minutes before they announced that it was broken, and we'd have to leave the line. I guess that wasn't as fun. The other rides were pretty good, and I had some tasty food for lunch. We spent the rest of the afternoon on rides and walking around before going back to the hotel. It took longer than expected, so we didn't get out of there to eat dinner until about 9:30. It was too late to go swimming after that, which was kind of a downer.
Sunday we got up and went to the new Branson Landing mall down. It reminded me a lot of the new Rogers Promenade mall. Hopefully the Promenade will end up as nice as this one. It had covered walkways, a nice waterfront, and an abundance of shops. Sadly it shared the same weakness as the Promenade - there were very few stores for men to shop at. After shopping for a few hours (and not buying anything, for the most part), we left for home. We stopped at the Butterfly Palace in town so I could get some shots of butterflies, but they had already gone to sleep, so it wouldn't have been too exciting. We ate dinner on the way home, and made it back around 8 or so.
I guess that's about it. The weekend went well, and it was good to spend time with my whole family again.
